The Mexican company Difraxion installed in American Axle and Manufacturing, a comprehensive digital signage solution that included interactive kiosks and video wall.
American Axle and Manufacturing, AAM, is an international manufacturer of Automotive Axles and Transmissions for the world's leading brands such as GM, Chrysler, Nissan and Ford. In Mexico with more than 7000 Employees and at least 7 plants distributed in different industrial parks in Silao, Guanajuato, the challenge of communication and interaction is enormous to achieve the cohesion and corporate culture that characterizes it.
The company identified that one of its challenges was to increase the degree of information that employees receive regarding internal campaigns, events, courses, training and urgent notices, triggering greater participation and commitment resulting in greater productivity and lower staff turnover.
To resolve this situation, the company appointed the integrator Difraxion, the most representative company in the state of Guanajuato within the Digital Signage industry and which is a member of the Digital Signage Latin America Association. He is a specialist in providing digital signage solutions, from the creation and production of content to the implementation of HD and specialized SW.
The integrated solution
The project was divided into two phases, the first was to create an internal TV program where information of interest to collaborators is shown, recognitions, events, news among others.
This program was deployed on Screens installed in the 7 main dining rooms of the plant, through 7 CAYIN SMP-2100 players, each updated from a CAYIN Cloud server. The Internal Communication department centrally updates the information and is automatically distributed to the different points.
As a second phase, an interactive application was developed with more detailed information on transport routes, specific calendars of courses and events, as well as information on training and communication campaigns of each plant.
This application is deployed in 7 Interactive Touch Kiosks also powered by a CAYIN SMP-2100 player which deploy the HTML5 application providing the possibility of showing ads while not using the interactive part. This application is centrally managed by different areas of the company according to the content.
Finally, a Videowall of 4 Screens of 49 "was installed inside the main room where key meetings of the company are held. The screens are powered by a CAYIN SMP-8000QD player, which has the ability to power 4 screens and create various specialized combinations for "Videowall".
American Axle and Manufacturing has managed to consolidate this solution within the company, mainly due to the level of stability and low need for support, but primarily thanks to the possibility of being managed individually by the areas that generate the information.
The company has had positive reviews within the highest levels of the organization and a 3rd stage is currently being planned that could involve more screens in various areas of the plants.
DSLatam participated in Digital Signage Expo 2018
As every year, the Digital Signage Expo was held in Las Vegas, where we could appreciate "the latest cry of fashion" in terms of digital signage solutions, screens, montages, video walls and even holographic augmented reality boards filled the exhibition hall.
Of course, the digital signage association cannot be left behind, participating with the Mexico and Latin America Pavilion, presenting conferences entirely in Spanish for all Latino visitors, dealing with topics that surely caused impact or helped solve doubts among people who want to install or already have a DS network.
This year's speakers were Joaquim Lopes (4YouSee), Luis María González (Convergencia Digital), Oscar Cabrera (Motion ADS), Germán Robles (KOLO) and Jorge Sánchez (Corporate Multimedia), who are experts within the DS medium, and are also part of the DSLatam partners. They provided a quality exhibition, solving doubts and participating with the attendees.
To close we had the participation of all the speakers together with the President of DSLatam, Federico Freyria, Ryan Cahoy and Stephanie Gutnik (DSF) in a panel discussion about the future of Digital Signage in Latin America.
It should be noted that our partner Daktronics this year was the gold medal winner of the Evené and DSE Hospitality Awards 2018 of the APEX Awards, for its remarkable installation in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
We expect this event to grow more and more every year, so that a greater part of the population knows, understands and implements digital signage to grow their company and achieve greater impact with innovative technology.
Thank you very much to all the participants, we look forward to seeing you next year!
