Central America. Epson appointed a woman as General Manager for the first time since its founding. This is Karinna Riofrio who recently holds the position and oversees the operations and commercial growth of the brand in Costa Rica and Central America.
With specializations in finance and economics, marketing, international business, corporate sales and international politics; since its appointment Karinna has contributed to the continuous growth of product lines and the expansion of the company in the region, positioning it as a leader in printing, point of sale and projection.
"One of the great goals during my stay is to improve the competitiveness of the brand in the region, despite the socioeconomic context we are going through in these countries. Returning the enthusiasm of buyers and the entire associated value chain is a challenge that I face with determination, planning and of course a lot of enthusiasm, "said the General Manager.
Riofrio, an Ecuadorian national and member of the Business Marketing Association and the American Management Association, has under its direction 135 employees distributed among Costa Rica (as the headquarters of operations in the region), Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador.
The current General Manager of Epson for Costa Rica and Central America has a high corporate profile, has held positions as Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of Mexico in Ecuador, moderating and facilitating the dialogue for the free trade agreement between both countries. Similarly, General Manager of Fernández Editores also in this South American country, increasing the income stream to 200% in two years.
From 2013 to 2019, he held the position of Country Manager for Epson Ecuador, demonstrating the ability to consistently meet the company's sales goals and results while increasing sales channels, customer satisfaction and team success.

Karina's appointment to the post is a high-profile event for the Japanese company and confirms its steps towards equal opportunities.
