Sony launches new wireless microphone systems

Latin America. Sony announced a new addition to its UWP-D series wireless microphone systems, offering superior sound quality through support for the Multi Interface Shoe (MI shoe) and the recent integration of a digital audio interface.

The new UWP-D series allows you to record direct digital audio and delivers high sound quality with low noise by bypassing the D/A and A/D conversion process along with support for the new MI SMAD-P5 MI hot shoe adapter and Sony's XDCAM camcorders, PXW-Z280 and PXW-Z190. In addition, the new UWP-D series achieves advanced integration with camcorders and can display audio information in the viewfinder, increasing ease of outdoor use.

The new UWP-D series microphones include the unique "NFC SYNC" function, which allows audio professionals to set the frequency between transmitter and receiver quickly and easily. Its small size and light weight offer the high levels of portability required for a wide range of applications, including news production, outdoor production, documentaries, sporting events and weddings.

Available from the third quarter of 2019, the entire new UWP-D series will include the following audio components:

UWP-D21: URX-P40 Portable Receiver and UTX-B40 Pocket Transmitter
UWP-D22: URX-P40 Portable Receiver and UTX-M40 Handheld Wireless Microphone
UWP-D26: URX-P40 portable receiver, UTX-B40 pocket transmitter and UTX-P40 plug-in transmitter

In response to the industry's desire for greater portability, the new UWP-D series has a compact and lightweight design, to contribute to a versatile operation. The size of the new UTX-B40 pocket transmitter has been reduced by approximately 20% compared to the size of the previous model, and the length of the URX-P04 receiver has been greatly reduced with the new MI SMAD-P5 hot shoe adapter, making it easier to use with compact camcorders or smaller interchangeable lens digital cameras.
