Colombia. The era of digital transformation that we are currently experiencing has been well exploited by Ricoh in the Colombian market. The company has achieved a combination of hardware solutions, services and consulting to expand its presence and assist in digital transformation.
AVI LATINOAMÉRICA spoke with Giancarlo Ghirotti, Country Manager of Ricoh Colombia, who stressed that Colombia is a little behind in the digital transformation with respect to the other countries of Latin America. But, according to Ricoh's experience in the field, the country has greatly accelerated the process over the past year.
In hardware solutions Ricoh has three lines available in Colombia:
Projectors: There are more than 40 types of projectors, starting with a simple projector for school or office to ultra short distance equipment, with manual adjustment and which allows you to join several equipment to make a videowall.
The advantage of Ricoh projectors, according to its director for Colombia, is that the air outlet is forward, which avoids inconvenience to those who participate in a meeting and may be next to the projector.
Whiteboards: they stand out because they operate under windows, and allow you to scratch on the whiteboard, record everything scratched in a powerpoint, send emails, among other options. They are being used in smart classrooms, corporate spaces and the healthcare sector.
Cameras: In Colombia, Ricoh recently launched its Theta cameras, which allow you to take 360-degree cameras with a single click, a camera that it considers disruptive due to its applications and facilities.
Giancarlo Ghirotti noted that the company focuses on three segments: corporate, health and education. Precisely in the latter Ricoh has a whole strategy that goes from the architectural adaptation of the room to the technological implementation with interactive whiteboards, projectors and 3D printers, generating computer laboratories that seek that the classes are visual and practical.
"In Latin America there are many cases in which technology is acquired but they do not know how to use it. That is why Ricoh offers an accompaniment service to educational institutions in order to train teachers to learn how to use and take advantage of solutions, all in order to help digital transformation, including architecture issues. It also applies to corporate spaces," said the Ricoh executive.
The health sector is also of interest to the company. From the audiovisual area, it has strengthened services such as second medical opinion and even 3D printers to support research.
Finally, Giancarlo Ghirotti commented that by the end of the fiscal year in April 2019, Ricoh Colombia will have grown twice as much as it did in the previous period. And digital transformation consulting, another of its lines, is one of the fastest growing.
