Cisco Names New Channel Leader for Latin America

Alba San MartinLatin America. Cisco appointed Alba San Martin as the leader of the company's channel organization in Latin America. Since 2011, Alba served as director of Cisco Systems Peru and Bolivia and will continue a couple of more months in this position in the transition period to her new roles.

As Director of Channel Operation, she will be responsible for Cisco's strategy with its business partners in the region, which includes an ecosystem of more than 6,300 channels in 40 countries. Alba and the team will offer the channels their support to face the market challenges, as well as help them in the development of new business opportunities. He will also work closely with Latin American leaders led by Jordi Botifoll.

"I am very excited that Alba will take on this new position within the Organization of Channels for America. His most recent success as General Manager of Cisco Systems Peru and Bolivia, along with his sales success, market and channel knowledge of the region, sales alignment and software knowledge will help us accelerate partner growth in the region, said Jordi Botifoll, President of Cisco Latin America.

He has a professional career of more than 22 years in the regional IT market with extensive experience in sales, marketing, distribution, business cooperation and leadership. He joined Cisco in 2010 as sales manager for the Andean region. During his tenure as General Manager in Peru and Bolivia, he drove substantial growth in both countries. In addition, operations in that area were distinguished  by the Great Place to Work Institute as the best multinational places to work in Latin America for two consecutive years. Alba also received in 2015 the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) 50 recognition.

Alba holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Lima, a Master's degree in Administration from Universidad Pacífico, both in Peru, and a master's degree in Environmental Sustainability Management and Corporate Social Responsibility from the EUDE Business School in Spain. Alba also participates in the Council of the National Competitiveness Forum of Peru, the League Against Cancer and the global organization Endeavor.
