Televes accredits Environmental Declaration of its luminaire

televes

Latin America. Over the last decades, we have experienced a clear increase in general awareness of sustainability, and the search for new sources of energy, as well as achieving an efficient use of them, is one of the priorities for our society.

In terms of lighting, the development of LED has led to the search for new lighting solutions focused on energy saving, since this technology was the biggest leap in sustainability in its history, and only the current digitalization has the potential to refute this claim. Thus, the Spanish company Televes has focused all its light production on these two pillars: LED technology and connectivity.

However, and unlike many other manufacturers, Televes understands that, in order to label a product as sustainable, it is not enough that its use is as efficient as possible from an energy point of view, but its entire life cycle must be taken into account. This analysis must be verified by an external entity that accredits the environmental profile of these products in order to compare them with all those available on the market.

Something that Televes has achieved in an ample way, since it has recently verified with AENOR the Environmental Product Declaration for the CIES range in a satisfactory way.

Environmental Product Declaration certified by AENOR
Companies have various mechanisms to accredit and communicate the environmental excellence of their products and services, among which the Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) in accordance with the International Standard ISO 14025, which defines the requirements that these Environmental Declarations must meet, including third-party verification.

With this Environmental Declaration, prepared for the CIES range, the environmental excellence of luminaires is accredited and communicated during their life cycle, from their manufacture, distribution, installation, use and end of life, in accordance with the International Standard ISO 14025.

This achievement demonstrates Televes' commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment when designing and developing its solutions, positioning the company at the forefront of technology in environmental matters.

Commitment to sustainability
Over the years, Televes has demonstrated its ability to make the development of an efficient and competitive business model compatible with environmental protection, safe and healthy working conditions and contribution to economic and social development in the environment in which it operates.

One of the principles that dominates the development of technological solutions is sustainability: creating products that not only have the least environmental impact during their useful life cycle, but that their own production is as less polluting as possible is perhaps the trend most followed by manufacturers and, in turn, most demanded by consumers.
