ISE 2023 launches Tech Talks Spanish will discuss AV megatrends

ISE. Integrated Systems Europe, ISE, launches in its 2023 version the Tech Talks Español conference program to learn, discover and inspire new opportunities in the audiovisual sector.

The Spanish Tech Talks, produced by AVIXA, will take place from January 31 to February 2 in the modern CC4.1 room, located in the CC4 area on the upper level of the Fira Gran Vía.

The free sessions will focus on the latest technologies and trends in the audiovisual industry. Each day of the three-day program will have four types of sessions: a masterclass on a niche topic aimed at technicians and engineers, a special session with collaborating organizations that support the industry in Catalonia, a session of Catalan startups on their technological innovations in the use of immersive AV and a session on AV / IT with keynote and panelists focused on the general public.

Spanish speakers of high professional level from universities, associated entities, AV industry guilds and experts based in Catalonia and other regions of Spain will attend.

Participants will not only have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, but will also be able to search for relevant solutions on the exhibition floor.

The master classes of Tech Talks Spanish at ISE 2023
To approach the event from a more practical point of view, the Tech Talks Español program includes three master classes aimed at technicians and engineers in the audiovisual sector. These sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m. during each day of the program.

Tech Talks Español opens with the masterclass "Drones as implausible bases to obtain audiovisual content" by Sisco Vallverdú, professor of telecommunications and digital signal processing at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and by José Antonio Soria, PhD in Electronics Engineering and professor at the same university.

The first master class aimed at technicians and engineers in the AV sector will take place on Tuesday, January 31 and will focus on how drones have become the perfect tripods to capture audiovisual content in various situations. Vallverdú will talk about FPV (first-person-view) drones that, since their appearance, are revolutionizing the world of videography. These lightweight, agile and fast drones are capable of performing a wide variety of movements, but the most remarkable feature is that they allow virtual presence in real time on board the device.

Vallverdú will also present in this session the main challenges in the design of different types of drones, as well as the storage, distribution and management solutions of audiovisual content.

On Wednesday, February 1, José (Pepe) Ferrer Balagué, CEO of Global Audio Solutions, will give a master class called Can a sound system be optimized without making noise?

Pepe Ferrer, creator and developer of the RiTA (FFT Analysis) and Submap (Acoustic Modeling) software, has almost 30 years of experience designing, adjusting and mixing for various companies and artists in theatrical and musical productions, concerts and events. In his masterclass he will talk about how, in contexts of sound of large events, the combination of analysis techniques and processing of the audio signal allows to optimize the systems reducing acoustic fatigue.

The third master class will be on Thursday, February 2 and is entitled AI and the musical ecosystem: challenges, opportunities and risks by Sergi Jordá, graduate in fundamental physics and doctor in computer science and digital communication, also professor of technology at Pompeu Fabra University.

Sergi Jordá, passionate about music, artistic creativity and scientific research, will tell how in the area of music current AI (artificial intelligence) applications may not be as spectacular or popular as those in the visual field; But, even so, the advances are no less vertiginous and the future possibilities are immense, with enormous potential for social and economic impact.

Jordá will also talk about some ethical, philosophical and legal issues that arise from the accelerated entry of neural networks, deep learning and other AI technologies in different areas of society, including art and culture.

The special sessions of Tech Talks English
The daily program of Tech Talks Español will include a special session at 11.20 am with collaborating organizations that support the industry in Catalonia.

Stragecraft: The New Virtual Set Revolution is the first special session on Tuesday, January 31. Virtual sets are called to revolutionize the world of cinema and audiovisual. Not only do they allow us to move anywhere in the world without moving, but also to recreate imaginary scenarios such as those of Mandalorian, the first work shot entirely on a Stagecraft set. This session will address points such as the development of content for this type of productions and the necessary technologies and infrastructures; In addition, there will be talk about whether costs are really reduced.

The special session on Wednesday, February 1 is titled Blockchain and NTFs in AV as you have never understood them. Here, attendees will be able to learn what Blockchain and NFTs are; Also, what are its strengths and weaknesses. In addition, examples of application that can be made in companies in all sectors, including the audiovisual sector (AV) where their uses have multiplied, will be given. In charge of this conference will be Carles Gómara, from ACCIÓ, Generalitat de Catalunya, business strategist and expert speaker in explaining technological issues in a simple way.

The third session titled Exerfitgaming and the full integration of AV technologies will be on Thursday, February 2 and will feature two speakers. On the one hand, Montserrat Subirana, sports specialist and CEO of the technological spin-off SUIFF, and on the other, Antoni Torrente, director of the Interactive Visualization line at the Eurecat Foundation. In this session, attendees will be able to learn about how we can integrate audiovisual technologies with emotional characteristics, fun, motivation and socialization to create a more immersive and enjoyable experience in the practice of sport, which causes the athlete's addiction to physical activity.

Technological innovations in the use of AV
The daily program of Tech Talks Español will also contain at 12:30 pm a session organized jointly with Catalan startups on their technological innovations in the use of AV.

Ignasi Capellá, CMO of Broomx Technologies and speaker at the first session on Tuesday, January 31, will attempt to answer this question: Can immersive AV technologies improve people's mental health? Capellá will share with attendees how hardware, software and content platform solutions, which allow creating immersive and multisensory experiences by projecting immersive and interactive content on walls and ceiling of a room, can help improve mental health.

On Wednesday, February 1, in the session entitled The future of culture is immersive, the speaker Frédéric Sanz, COO of Univrse, a pioneer in the development of multi-user Virtual Reality solutions, will tell why many companies have focused on the development of multi-user VR solutions that allow multiple users (40, 50, 200...) live and share the same VR experience in the same physical space.

Fashion and metaverse also have their place in the Spanish Tech Talks. In the third session, Metaverse and fashion. An industry that is leading the paradigm shift, Julio Obelleiro, CEO of Wildbytes and winner of international awards such as Webbys, Clio or One Show Awards, will talk about how the metaverse is creating a huge range of new opportunities and redefining the future of the fashion industry, from the Direct-to-Avatar-Economy to the relationship between physical and digital fashion through NFTs.

Sessions on AV/IT solutions
Tech Talks Español has also thought of interesting content for a more general AV/IT audience; So the daily program includes a session at 1:10 p.m. with keynote and discussion panel.

On Tuesday, January 31, the IT + AV session will take place, optimizing solutions and results. In this session, attendees will learn about the importance of AV and IT fusion to optimize solutions and results for users. Just as digital transformation is imperative for all businesses, so is AV transforming content, space and technology by bridging the physical and virtual, analog and digital, space and cyberspace, machines and humans.

The opening keynote for this session will be presented by Carlos Bertrand, director for Iberia of TD SINNEX, who will later moderate the panel discussion between Aristeo López, founding partner of Tower TBA; José Luis Gión, Business Unit Manager, Communication Services at Ricoh Spain; and Román Ceriani, CEO of ICAP Global Spain.

The Catalan engineer Jordi Palou, CEO of Global Room, will speak on Wednesday, February 1 about Integration of technologies for the hybrid classroom. Palou will present on the audiovisual proposals, inspired by the operation of a TV studio, which make the hybrid classroom an attractive experience for remote and face-to-face attendees. Attendees will learn about the history of the development of the current hybrid classroom and also a case study of real application in a hybrid classroom recently inaugurated at the University of Barcelona.

The session Revolutionize the themed restaurant with a strategy that includes rebranding, experiences, omnichannel will take place on Thursday, February 2 and will include a keynote. The session will focus on rebranding and its impact on the restaurant. Topics such as mass marketing, segmentation, omnichannel strategy and multisensory strategy in the restaurant will also be addressed. The session will be in charge of Rafael Negro, retail marketing, innovation and digital signage consultant.

The success of the AV Experience Zone at ISE 2022 led us to expand the program and inspired Tech Talks Español, says Víctor Alarcón, producer of the event. And he adds: Now, all Spanish-speaking attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and trends in the industry from the most prestigious professionals in the sector.
