Tips to ensure successful technology adoption

Latin America. The labor reality of many companies today has changed, which is why many of them have chosen to change their way and model of work. After the pandemic, talking about digital transformation is very common.

According to data from ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean), during the coronavirus crisis, in the case of Latin America, the online business presence increased and the websites of companies in countries such as Colombia and Mexico grew by 800%.

However, although today organizations live accelerated processes of digitalization, the truth is that in many of them there is still ignorance on the part of employees and users about the values and functionalities of the technologies implemented. The transformation process in organizations poses new challenges that directly impact one of its most important assets: people.

What Axity and its experts recommend for a correct adoption plan:

• Lead in a first phase the process of adoption of any technology with sponsors from the different areas that support transmitting the message of change to all levels of the organization.
• Diagnose the current state of the organizational culture in the client and understand what the company's need is.
• Involve the entire organization together when defining a process of technology adoption.
• Know what are the requirements that the company has and what is the need that is sought to be satisfied before integrating any tool.
• Engaging all collaborators is important to have the support of all those involved so that the strategies that are implemented are comprehensive and in this way be able to achieve the positive results that are sought within an organization with a technology adoption plan.
• Evaluate the willingness of employees to a change, which may involve the implementation or inclusion of a new functionality in a technological solution.

The benefits of implementing new technologies within an organization can range from increasing customer satisfaction, optimizing business processes, improving communication, to having real-time access to information you want, from wherever you are, facilitating decision making.

According to an internal analysis of Axity, which has helped more than 5000 users in industries such as education and health, to adopt new technologies, 74.1% of entrepreneurs consider that the failure of a digital transformation is due to the lack of culture within an organization and 56.3%, to budget issues, which are not the answer to what the company needs.
