Christie joined the Guadalajara Festival of Lights

Mexico. For four days GDLUZ, the Guadalajara Festival of Light has illuminated the most emblematic buildings of the historic center of this Mexican city within the framework of the 476th anniversary of its foundation.

Christie's 3DLP technology projectors, including the Christie Boxer, and Christie Pandoras Box servers have featured a leading role in some of the event's 40 attractions, which included mapping screenings, multimedia shows, interactive installations and projections, live music, art installations and performance. Some 550,000 people enjoyed the event in which Christie has been an official sponsor for the second consecutive year.

"Christie's role this year at GDLUZ has been key. I would consider Christie as a technological partner since thanks to its projectors and servers the quality objectives we expected were achieved," said Carlos Márquez, projection director of Alteacorp, the creator and producer of the event with the support of the City of Guadalajara and the private initiative.

One of the interactive projections of the event was called Laser Mapping. With a laser pointer, attendees drew shapes and images that were projected in real time with a Christie HD14K-M projector on one of the walls of a building in the Plaza de Tapatía, one of the most emblematic in the city.

Another of the projections where Christie's technology shone was in the interactive mapping on the esplanade of the Hospicio Cabañas, where a Christie Boxer 4K30 projector was used. Through a proprietary application designed by Altea Corp that included custom-made servers for image processing and motion sensors, as well as Pandoras Box Managers and Players, attendees became authors of a video mapping playing in real time to "paint" the façade of this building Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Also the Degollado Theater served as a screen for another videomapping made with a Christie Boxer 4K30, and synchronized by Managers and Players of Pandoras Box.

Ernesto Armus, director of Christie Mexico, concluded that: "We are proud that our projectors and servers have once again contributed to brightening up Mexico's largest festival of lights. The Alteacorp team has been able to take advantage of our technology to offer an impactful work of enormous quality".
