Latin America. Philips Lighting achieved industry leader status in the Electrical Components and Equipment category of the 2017 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
The company's total score was 85 points out of 100, demonstrating that sustainability is central to Philips Lighting's strategy and purpose. This is the first year that Philips Lighting was included in the independent company category since its initial public offering in May 2016.

It's part of our daily work and is driven by our leadership with a sense of urgency," said Nicola Kimm, Head of Sustainability, Environment, Health and Safety.
In its annual assessment, DJSI recognized Philips Lighting's strong performance in the wake of the launch of its "Brighter Lives, Better World" program, focused on sustainable operations and revenues. As part of that program, Philips Lighting has made significant progress toward its commitment to becoming a carbon neutral company by 2020, reducing its carbon footprint by 21% throughout 2016.
The highest scores (100/100) were obtained by Philips Lighting in the categories Climate Strategy, Environmental Reporting, Ecological Operational Efficiency and Innovation Management.
