Sony introduced first 4K surgical recorder

Latin America. Sony Professional Solutions has announced the launch of a complete 4K IP solution for hospitals, which allows them to take advantage of the latest imaging technologies. The solution includes the new 4K recorder for medical use and the content management system, which allow you to view on-site, record and manage images over an Ethernet network with the latest award-winning 4K surgical monitors (LMD-X550MD 55" and LMD-X310MD 31").

Technology is advancing rapidly and the medical community is increasingly requiring high-quality visualization solutions for medical operations and other healthcare procedures. With a resolution four times higher than HD, Sony's 4K technology provides detail when it's needed most. The new 4K recorder for medical use and the content management system can work together to provide a complete 4K solution to medical professionals. Together, the technologies offer a robust image processing system over IP to support high-precision surgical procedures.

4K recorder for medical use HVO-4000MT:
The new HVO-4000MT is a 4K, 3D and 2D recorder for medical use designed to record 4K videos and images from endoscopic and laparoscopic camera systems, surgical microscopes and other compatible imaging systems.

Images captured with the HVO-4000MT can be used for patient registration, training or educational purposes. The portable and compact recorder is suitable for use in operating rooms, medical centers, surgical centers, clinics, consultations and similar healthcare environments.

The HVO-4000MT offers long-lasting recording to your internal hard drive. With a 4TB internal hard drive, it provides ample storage capacity even in 4K, so surgeons can record lengthy procedures without having to worry about a lack of disk space. Recorded videos can be exported to an external USB hard drive, flash drive or CIFS server for storage over hospital networks. In addition, the images can be shared with other specialists and used for didactic purposes, and can be transferred to the content management system.

The HVO-4000MT has been designed in accordance with medical safety regulations and optimized for medical application. This equipment can capture high-quality, long-lasting video from high-resolution cameras in the operating room. By connecting the recorder to a network, the images can be uploaded so that they can be viewed by other medical professionals who are not present in the operating room.

CmDS-MS20MD Content Management System

The new 4K-ready CMDS-MS20MD content management system enables network-based search and management of recorded 4K video data from medical 4K recorders and other recording devices. The new application effectively optimizes the storage, management and archiving of 4K/HD medical still images and videos.

Due to the increasing availability of video devices and medical cameras, the effective management of content from all these sources becomes a key issue. The CMDS-MS20MD offers an ideal solution. It is capable of managing video content created by medical recorders such as sony's HVO-4000MT, as well as providing a video editing feature. The transmission of video content can also be captured in real time directly from connected IP cameras and live encoders.

Thanks to seamless integration into modern hospital computing environments, including electronic health records (EHRs), the CMDS-MS20MD scales to accommodate a large number of connected recorders and client terminals. The server application runs in a Windows environment, while the client application runs in the most popular web browsers. Since the CMDS-MS10MD complies with the requirements of HIPAA*, data is stored securely and access is limited to authorized persons. With this new range of products that support IP-based management of 4K video, Sony addresses a wide range of imaging needs that are emerging in the medical landscape.
