Anastacia has resurfaced for her "Resurrection" Tour, with her voice sounding better than ever after her courageous fight against cancer. For the tour, which includes stops from Paris to Belarus and Brisbane, Anastacia's voice is better than ever as she sings through Sennheiser's SKM 5200-II paired with an MD 5235 capsule, which are paired with an EM 3732-II receiver.
Lead mixing engineer Gerard Albo, who has been working with Anastacia for over four years, appreciates the sound quality and flexibility he gets night after night with the SKM 5200/MD 5235 combination: "The microphone works well with your voice, which can be difficult to handle. She has a lot of power, especially between 2 and 4 kKz. We've seen that the capsule of the 5235 is very soft all the time," Albo explained.
While the tour has a musical lineup similar to those of previous years, this tour also features a completely revamped visual component, including choreography and advanced lighting – which according to Albo, makes the performance more theatrical than a traditional rock concert.
That powerful and dynamic voice can warp into another microphone, but Albo explains that Sennheiser's SKM 5200 brings predictability to FOH and monitoring stations, delivering flawless performances night after night for Anastacia's millions of fans around the world. Anastacia began using the SKM 5200/MD 5235 combination at the suggestion of Sennheiser Manager, Music Collaborations, Pierre Morant.
The production team is using other microphones on stage including an e 902 and an e 901 in the bass drums, e 904 and an e 905 in the tarola. In addition to sennheiser's superior sound and reliability, Albo is comfortable with the fact that it receives reliable support – no matter where the tour is located.
