Wacom Launches First Cloud-Based Services

Latin America. Wacom introduced Dropzone and Control Room, two new cloud-based services that offer quick and easy access to images and personal settings in an increasingly mobile environment. Offering up to 2GB of free storage, Dropzone allows users to save images of their creative work to the cloud so that they are accessible from any device, anywhere.

For its part, Control Room offers a storage service for the individual configurations of digital pens, tablets and Wacom displays, allowing the user to save time in the configuration when they want to use their familiar environments on a different device of the same type. Both Dropzone and Control Room are free, easy to use, and work independently of existing services or operating systems.

The two services are Wacom's first step in cloud-based services that in the future will provide a system for connecting multiple devices with shared features in a complete and easy-to-use open ecosystem.

Wacom Dropzone

Dropzone is an intuitive service that allows users to easily store and access their images on any computer or device at any time. It works as a personal clipboard to copy and paste images quickly. With up to 2GB of free storage, it's especially useful for those who like to work or connect from different places and for those who create their jobs using multiple devices. It also provides peace of mind that all images are saved and backed up in the event that the computer's hard drive fails.

Dropzone is compatible with Windows, Mac OSX and iOS and supports all common bitmap image formats. In addition, the app to take notes and draw Bamboo Paper for iOS, is introducing Dropzone as a built-in feature to make importing images and exporting notes or drawings even easier.

Control Room

When working with multiple computers, it can be time-consuming and complicated to customize tablet settings and add shortcuts. Control Room allows users to save their preferred Wacom Intuos and Cintiq settings to the Wacom Cloud and access them when they need to. These settings can be quickly and easily loaded on another device. Control Room is compatible with many of the current Intuos and Cintiq products and is available for free at the Wacom Desktop Centre, which comes with the product drivers.

Both services require a Wacom Cloud account. Users can sign up for https://cloud.wacom.com where they can also download Dropzone as a native app for iOS, Windows, and Mac OS.
