USA. At InfoComm 2009, Panasonic Corporation announced the development of a new 85-inch widescreen (16:9) plasma model with Full HD Hd quality, slender design only 99 millimeters deep and lifespan of up to 100 thousand hours, ideal for signage, promotion, scenography and image monitoring applications in security rooms and television studios, video and film. The 85-inch plasma incorporates neo PDP Eco technology, developed by Panasonic, which significantly reduces energy consumption and at the same time doubles the brightness of the equipment. Its dimensions (2,015 x 1,195 x 99 mm) allow creative installations, as it replaces four 42-inch screens and can display the image of a person if used in an upright position. In addition, weighing 103kg, it is 40% lighter and 30mm thinner than 103-inch plasma, so it can be transported and installed more easily.
This new Panasonic model will be available globally from the last quarter of this year.
