Artists used Shure at Latin Grammys

Latin America. Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, J Balvin and Carlos Vives, among other talents, excelled at the 17th Latin Grammy Ceremony. The delivery, which was televised by Univision and TNT for South America, took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The show featured about twenty live performances, among which the performance of Marc Anthony and Jennifer López shone. Shure user Anthony used the UR2/KSM9HS handheld UHF-R® wireless system, while Lopez, who is sponsored by Shure, brought his own Axient® wireless system with custom AXT200/KSM8 handheld transmitter. The duo performed "Olvídame y pega la vuelta" by Pimpinela, after which the Puerto Rican received the person of the year award, standing out as the most shocking moment of the evening.

The event, more than three hours long, was co-animated by Argentine actor Sebastián Rulli and actress, dancer and host Roselyn Sánchez. Together, they presented the performances of Carlos Vives (who used the UR2/SM58 microphone), J Balvin with Pharrell Williams, Bia and Sky (the Colombian used the UR2/KSM9HS microphone) and Fonseca with Alexis and Fido (who used, respectively, the UR2/SM58 and UR2/BETA58 microphones). Like all the talents who participated tonight, they trusted Shure's PSM1000 monitoring system, for its great audio quality, its reception with antenna diversity, which defines it as a stable system, and its broadband tuning, which allows working in any entertainment environment in any city in the world. All these qualities define it as the preferred system and the most popular of artists globally.

Adinaldo Neves, Senior Market Development Specialist, Pro Audio, for Shure Latin America comments on the advantages of the PSM1000 system: "One of its main features is that its tuning band is very wide, which allows the company that rents them to adapt them to any type of situation, regardless of the spectrum of the place where it is. The other thing is that PSM1000 can be controlled by network, that in an event the size of the Latin Grammy, engineers can control exactly what is happening with the systems. Also, the most important point of all, is that the sound of the PSM1000 is fantastic and all musicians love it." Each of the artists present exclusively used PSM1000: it is the music and entertainment industry standard for monitoring.

J Balvin monitor engineer Germán Tarazona explains why he is leaning towards the PSM1000 monitoring system: "My only choice in transmission system for personal monitoring is without a doubt the Shure PSM1000. I always recommend this system to artists I work with, like J Balvin. It is a system that allows me to have incredible RF stability with absolute quality in the final audio. One of their most powerful tools is to have a spectrum analyzer from the P10R and know what frequencies I have available, this saves time and resources on my tours and also on live shows like the Latin Grammys."

Singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel won two posthumous Grammy Awards, for best traditional pop vocal album and best album of the year, for the album "Los Dúo 2". The Mexican had never won this recognition until the night of November 17, and shared the spotlight at the gala held in Las Vegas with Shakira and Shure user Carlos Vives, where they won two awards for "La bicicleta", as best song of the year and best record of the year.

Likewise, Fonseca, who is sponsored by Shure, took home two golden gramophones, corresponding to best cumbia or vallenato album ("Homenaje a la música de Diomedes Díaz") and best tropical song ("Vine a buscarte"). Meanwhile, star J Balvin, user Shure, won the recognition for best urban music album for "Energy"; the Mexican, Julieta Venegas,  who is sponsored by Shure won the best pop rock album for the production "Algo pasa" and the Brazilian, also sponsored by Shure Paula Fernandes won the award for best album of music sertaneja for her work "Amanhecer".
