Juventus impresses with ambient lighting system

International. Philips Lighting, Juventus' official lighting partner, wowed fans in its stadium and those watching TV, with a dazzling pre-match light show using its new Philips ArenaVision LED ambient lighting system.

This new lighting, which meets the latest standards of television broadcasters and international football federations, was an instant hit with fans, who expressed their delight on social media. Since its inauguration on August 21, in an evening match against Fiorentina, the new lighting received a huge acceptance with 43,000 likes on Facebook, 37,500 times shared and 2,700 enthusiastic comments, as well as 3.89 million impressions on Twitter.

Philips Lighting has a partnership for two years with Juventus, which will run until the end of the 2016-2017 season to "illuminate" its stadium. The iconic arena now boasts 396 Philips ArenaVision LED luminaires installed on the ceiling and in the technical corridors. Likewise, the reception areas for important guests, the Atrium of Honor and the Club Sivori members club are renovated with the most advanced lighting technology to create the desired light scenery and the right atmosphere. By updating the ambient lighting to meet the highest standards, juventus' stadium is able to elevate the entertainment experience to a whole new level during football matches and events.

"Our LED ambient lighting technology enhances the fan experience, allowing TVs to capture even the smallest gesture and details of each match," says Paolo Recrosio, General Manager of Philips Lighting Italy, Israel and Greece. "By partnering with Juventus we wanted to create a unique experience that would allow fans to get excited and enjoy the full experience – from their arrival at the stadium until after the game."

Philips' ArenaVision ambient lighting system meets the requirements of TV broadcasters and football federations that need high-quality lighting to meet the needs of ultra high definition and super slow motion for replay. In addition, it does not require warm-up time and is flexible enough to allow lighting of certain parts of the field before a football match or as part of a light show.

For more than 60 years, Philips Lighting has been present in sports lighting. It illuminates more than 65% of the stadiums used in major international sporting events, and 55% of the main football stadiums in the world use Philips Lighting technology.
