Sennheiser launches Innovation Campus

International. In an area of 7,000 square meters, located in Wedemark, Germany, Sennheiser, the audio specialist, launches its Innovation Campus, providing its multidisciplinary teams with ample space and cutting-edge tools to carry out development and marketing projects, capable of revolutionizing the audio solutions in which Sennheiser is already a pioneer.

The ground floor of the building houses a theatre and the first Sennheiser Flagship Store in Germany. "With our Innovation Campus, Sennheiser now has the largest and most modern innovation center in the entire audio industry," explained Andreas Sennhesier, CEO. "We have created the space to develop innovations that are even more directly aimed at customers. This is obvious not only in the architecture of the building but also in the new way of working."

In the Sennheiser Flagship Store, not only will you be able to see the highlights in the Sennheiser product range, some inspiring projects will also be known, proof of this, were those presented during the opening ceremony, among which stood out: the interface between sculpture and sound by the artist Nik Nowak and the revolutionary look at 3D Audio technology by sound engineer Gregor Zielinksy, known for his exciting applications in sound installations for the exhibition "David Bowie Is".

The architectural principles of the Sennheiser Innovation Campus propagate sound waves from the roof to the green areas of the huge front yard. In the public section of the building, in addition to the reception and the Flagship Store, there is a small café and a theater with 200 seats, which boasts an exterior design inspired by the iconic MD 421 microphone.

"This theatre is mainly used to  test and complete our nascent products, as well as to provide event space in our large international Sennheiser network," explained Andreas Sennheiser. "We are also in talks with the Hannover University of Music, Theatre and Media (HMTMH) about increased opportunities for use. We have maintained an excellent partnership with HMTMH for ten years. One idea is to use the auditorium to provide a forum for young people who are just starting their artistic careers."
