International. The company MMD, exclusive licensee of Philips commercial signage monitors, announced a new version of the 47-inch monitors, under the reference BDL4771V, for applications in fast food restaurants that want to offer the menu digitally to their customers.
According to Craig Rathbun, managing director of MMD in North America, these monitors are a response to the growing demand for digital boards in fast food restaurants, which is why they contain special applications that improve the viewing experience.
This device ditches with a screen technology known as IPS, which favors the image of the LCD panel, to provide a vivid image quality and rich in 1.07 million colors. The large color spectrum creates accurate and contrasting color saturation for a wider viewing angle, from different orientations.
IPS also favors on-screen image consistency in multi-screen implementations. This feature is ideal for ensuring that restaurant patrons can clearly read the signage content from all angles.
By utilizing DVI-derived connection technology, users can deploy higher volume systems that reduce deployment costs by broadcasting a single video signal across multiple displays.
The company highlighted that the new Philips reference incorporated a feature that allows the user to mount a PC or media player on the back of the panel without increasing the overall depth of the screen.
