The restructuring includes the creation of new lines of business as well as the disappearance of others. It will create the medical business unit and the sound and personal image business, they will be realigned as the digital imaging business group.
Among those that will disappear are the consumer products and services and professional devices and solutions groups. In addition, the home entertainment group will be integrated into the personal audio business and re-established as a sound and home entertainment business group.
All these changes come with the arrival of new President and CEO Kazuo Hirai (pictured), announced earlier this year.
