Therefore, Sony recently introduced to the market an economical component for the HDCAM-SR family, this is the SRW-5100 model, which reproduces at the rate of 880Mbps in 4:2:2 1080 50P/60P, 4:4:4 1080 HQ and Dual-Stream modes. This new device also supports 2x high-speed content transfers. According to company representatives, the new model is ideal for dubbing on set, as well as for reviewing, entering or taking out HDV™ content in offline applications. Another feature of the SRW-5100 is that it offers playback support for HDCAM® and Digital Betacam formats via optional cards."HDCAM-SR technology is the industry's most popular exchange and mastering format for digital television and film production. Likewise, it is the standard in post-production and high-level digital intermediation," said José Alvarado, marketing manager of content creation at Sony Electronics, BPLA division.
