Colombia. The Colombian Polytechnic Jaime Isaza Cadavid implemented six new interactive classrooms, known as Class Rooms, which redefine the teaching-learning experience.
The new Class Rooms are equipped with advanced technology, such as PTZ cameras for high-definition recording and streaming, mobile interactive screens for agile presentations, and surround sound systems with 8 Bose speakers. In addition, the "drop" chairs, fully mobile and adjustable, facilitate a comfortable and functional experience, adapting to any class configuration, both right-handed and left-handed.
The equipment of these spaces not only includes technological equipment, but also specialized furniture designed to optimize the comfort and functionality of the spaces. Chairs with adjustable compartments and tables, together with the flexible classroom layout, favor interaction between students and teachers, encouraging teamwork and the development of creative projects.
The Class Room project has involved a total investment of $1,544 million pesos (about US$360,000) distributed in physical adaptations, acquisition of state-of-the-art technological equipment and specialized furniture. Every detail was carefully planned to ensure that the academic community has access to an educational environment that fosters innovation and creativity.
On what this innovation means, the rector of the institution, Jairo Alexander Osorio Saraz, said: "We want each student to experience a learning process in accordance with the demands of the 21st century. The new interactive classrooms are key to providing a space where knowledge flows in a dynamic and collaborative way."
The main focus of the Class Rooms is to create a comprehensive educational experience. The flexible arrangement of state-of-the-art furniture and equipment encourages collaborative work and the exchange of ideas, adapting to the needs of today's students. This responds to the demands of a modern education, where technology and active learning are fundamental for academic success.
