Latin AV Industry Continues to Grow

A decade ago, Latin American countries began to gain importance in the audiovisual industry, thanks to the interest in professional solutions. There was also a big boost following the economic crisis of the industrialized countries of 2008, which led AV manufacturers to set their eyes on the region to deal with the situation.

More and more companies are emerging as local distributors and integrators. In addition, manufacturers have been increasing their direct presence in each of the countries in the region. To this is added the interest of members of the industry to seek to be more trained and innovate in each of the facilities, which has marked the growth of entities such as InfoComm International, which this year began to appoint directors in each country.

The years when the latest developments in technology were delayed in reaching Latin America are things of the past. Today, the interest and consumption is immediate, so it is not surprising that AV installations are already in the region with HDBaseT and 4K technologies.

The end user has also played a pivotal role in this process. Manufacturers, distributors and integrators have understood and taken on the challenge of educating end users in AV solutions and ensuring that they understand the benefits of having professional facilities. Thus, more and more sectors are looking for AV solutions.

This panorama is reflected in the growth in the number of exhibitors and visitors that have had the TecnoMultimedia InfoComm fairs, which began five years ago in Colombia, the following year in Mexico and today we celebrate the success of the first version in Brazil, last May.

Undoubtedly, we all want this growth to continue and be sustained in the future, but there are many challenges that must be assumed, such as the fear of working in a group with colleagues, avoiding bad practices to win a contract, which prioritizes transparency with the end user and being in constant training and updating.
