International. With 24 Milo linear array speakers, 18 700-HP subwoofers for the FOH and two linear array Mica speakers on one 700-HP per side for the sidefill, Meyer Sound accompanies the "Seedless Summer" tour of the reggae group Slightly Stoopid, which currently tours the United States.
The sound system, which is provided to the group by Rainbow Production Services of Hampstead, N.H., also includes six UPJ-1P VariO speakers for the frontfill; six MJF-212A stage monitors; and another 700-HP subwoofer for the battery.
According to James Wisner, FOH engineer on the tour, "The Meyer Sound system provides an excellent frame to convey the sound of Slightly Stoopid at a level that suits an inordinate party atmosphere. As loud as it sounds good. With reggae, you never have too much bass, or enough weird spatial effects or sounds."
He adds that with the self-powered speakers and subwoofers, the sound stays clean and tidy and comes out loud and exactly as they want. The bass of this system is complemented by a VENUE D-Show console from Avid.
The tour also carries a large component of Heil Sound, Sennheiser and Shure microphones. And at the same time a multitrack recording of all the presentations during the tour is made from the D-Show on the monitor console, by means of a MADI interface on a Steinberg Nuendo workstation by Driscoll.
