Multicines opens a complex with 100% RGB laser projectors

MulticinesEcuador. The Ecuadorian chain Multicines has just inaugurated a new film complex in the city of Guayaquil of 11 theaters, all of which have been equipped with Christie RGB laser projectors. The operation has been carried out through the integrator CES+ (Cinema Equipment & Supplies).

The complex in question is located in guayaquil's Mall del Río Shopping Center, Ecuador's main port. "It is a multiplex that has 11 rooms equipped with cutting-edge technology and a completely innovative industrial design, unique in the country," explained Gonzalo López, General Manager of Multicines.

Thus, the complex includes, for example, a 4D-Emotion room with seats with vibration system and movements, as well as impacts of wind, water and aromas. There is also a large format premium room (PLF) called Multicines Xtreme (MCX) with Dolby Atmos sound, premium seats and a giant screen of almost 200 square meters.

Finally there is a Kids room for families and especially children to have an innovative experience. The room has colorful seats: red, blue, green, yellow and orange. At the back of the room, a slide connects to a children's playroom. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this space remains momentarily closed.

For the screening, Multicines, a long-time customer of Christie, was clear about it and trusted the brand once again. "Christie is one of the leaders in terms of film projection worldwide and we are known for having the best technology in our theaters," said Gonzalo López.

Regarding the choice of RGB laser technology, López explained: "This is the new trend in film projection due to its excellent quality and efficiency in energy consumption. RGB laser technology provides significant improvements in the customer experience, as both the color quality and high luminosity are definitely the best on the market."

The MCX room, the largest in the complex, has been equipped with a Christie CP4330-RGB projector, a 28,000 lumens equipment and 4096 x 2160 resolution (4K). The rest of the rooms have the 2K CP2309-RGB (8500 lumens) and CP2320-RGB (18000 lumens) models. All of them are based on Christie RealLaser lighting technology that provides unmatched long-term stability and reliability.

Diego López, general manager OF NOLA and Christie's Andean Region, said: "The truth is that Multicines is characterized by always being at the forefront of technology for its movie theaters and caring about offering the best comfort for its audience. We are very honored that they have once again recognized the superiority and brightness of our RGB laser projection systems for this cutting-edge multiplex that will provide their viewers with a world-class cinematic experience."

Multicines began its operations in Ecuador in 1996 as a pioneer in the country in the commercial exploitation of cinema through multiroom complexes of modern technology. It currently has 68 screens in different parts of the country, many of which are equipped with Christie cinema projectors.
