Vote for the best university work of TecnoTelevisión

Colombia. Between October 22 and November 6, you can vote virutally to choose the winner of the second version of the TecnoTelevisión University Contest. 

The five finalist works were chosen by three juries with extensive experience in audiovisual production. They are Olga Castaño, current member of the National Television Board of the National Television Authority representing the Universities; Juan Carlos Villamizar and Asier Aguilar, both producers of canal Caracol.

In addition to the recognition for their work, the five finalists are already winners. A representative of each work will participate in the academic program of TecnoTelevisión with all expenses paid. The creators of the winning audiovisual piece will receive a plaque of recognition, article in the magazine TVyVIDEO highlighting the profile of the winner(s) and a professional video camera AG – AC160 from Panasonic.

 

These are the synopses of the five finalist works:

 

Real-time cinema

Daniel Camilo Acevedo

University of Antioquia

An audiovisual collective investigates the city of Medellín through workshops that integrate the convergence between audiovisual and new technologies. The image and experimental sonority are used as a strategy for the creation of narratives that address identity, memory and territory from an alternative point of view.

 

Children's Afrotransmedia

Juan Daniel Sanchez Meneses

Autonomous University of the West

Guillermina y Candelario is the first animated children's series made in southwestern Colombia and inspired by Afro-descendant characters and Pacific settings. Maritza Rincón (Producer) and Marcela Rincón, (Director), tell the conformation of the series in a transmedia project. With the interactive web components and mobile content, they explore new narrative possibilities for the children of the country to enjoy in a pedagogical way together with the famous characters.

Voice commands

Diana Lucia Viola Villamizar

Pontifical Bolivarian University

In the Faculty of Electronic Engineering of the Pontifical Bolivarian University of Bucaramanga, engineer Fabio Guzmán, together with his students, develops applied technology for cases of disability. As a result of this, they have manufactured the wheelchair with voice commands for people with quadriplegia. Such is the case of Jesús Méndez, a young artist dedicated to painting who has been the first beneficiary of this project.

University of Tolima

Martín Ayala, from the Muisca community of Boyacá, uses technological tools for research in social conflicts on mining, oil, agrarian issues and in general all the social concerns of his community, to make them visible through the blog Bitácora del caminante.

Gran Colombiano Polytechnic

The workshop seeks to open a space of cultural inclusion, exalting the qualities and artistic capacities of the deaf community. This project was born from the need to guide the creation of audiovisual pieces that disseminate a content of enjoyment for both communities and that enhances their creative talents, for an integration as active members of culture in Colombia. We have a lot to tell ourselves, let's start with our stories.
